Informal Letter

Hi, Rodrigo!

How are you? It is nice to hear from you again and I’m glad that your new job is going well! It is also nice that you are coming to my town.

First of all, you absolutely need to visit the old Museum. It is called “Callaye” and there you can find really interesting facts about my town and you can also get in touch with the culture and language. So, I think you can practice during the visit! There are many restaurants near the Museum, so if you get hungry, we will probably need to go and eat somenthig. You have to try the typical dish, but I won’t tell you, so it can be a surprise!

Secondly, during the weekend, I would advise you to go to a few bars, not the ones that could get you in trouble, you know what I mean!. My idea is that you can practice your language in a more common way, in a more informal, but also chill situation. This will help you to get to know the kind of people that live here, and maybe you could meet someone and have a one night adventure. Moreover, if you don’t like this, we can figure out what to do instead.

So yeah Rodrigo, those are my ideas for now. What do you think about them? Let me know if you’re into them or not. Whatever you say, I know we will have fun!

Talk to you soon,

Fernanda

Story 1

My eleventh birthday wans’t spent blowing out candles on a cake. Instead, I was on a tiny scottish island. Every summer, Dad, an archaeologist, led a group of students on a dig at a ruined medieval church. It wasn’t exactly birthday fun, or so I thought.

Suddenly, under a bright July sun, everything changed. A shout! A student has found something strange. The group spent the day carefully brushing away dirt, revealing a hidden treasure: Bowls and Brooches, gleaming like secrets from the past.

Two days later, the local newspaper had a headline: “Eleven-year-old witness to Medieval Silver Find”

The idea of creating a people-friendly work place is to make employees feel confortable and productive. While improving the office with decoration can be nice (“Our office is so much better with these plants”), two key factors have a more significant impact on employees’ behavior: Proper lighting and ventilation, and the opportunity for exercise and breaks.

Firstly, good lighting and ventilation are crucial for physical and mental health. Staring at a computer screen in dim light can cause like a “tired feeling” in your eyes (“I find it difficult to se my computer screen”). Similarly, poor air circulation leads to headaches. Investing in brighter lights and improving ventilation systems can significaly improve employee confort and focus.

However, the most effective way to boost behavior and productivity is by encouraging breaks and exercise. Sitting for long periods of time can lead to a very uncorfortable sensation in their bodies and even some pain. Having dedicated break areas (“There’s nowhere to have a coffee except at our desks”) allows employees to socialize, grab a coffee, or simply step away for a few minutes. Even little moments of physical activity, like walk around the office, can improve energy levels and focus.

In conclusion, light, air, and movement breaks directly impact in the employees behavior so these aspects should be improved.

Class workshop week 16: “Digital workshop: my personal reflections”

In this course during the year, I have learn many things. Going through four unit, many thing have been taught.
First I want to talk about the first unit “Background and present challenges”: I learn about how schools do not use technology and other do, I learn to creating mind-maps, creating video quiz, how to integrate ITC in our daily lessons, etc.
About unit number 2:Planning a session. The most meanigfull thing that I have learn, is about TPACK and SMAR model, more of TPACK model truly. I learn how to use it in our activities and in lessons. Also we learn how to write objectives and abot blom’s taxonomy.
In unit number 3: ICT : communication and collaboration: Seriously, I really don’t remember what we saw in this unit.
Unit number 4: Digital Assessment. We saw the principles for digital assessment that can help us in our future as teachers, we will know how to “evaluate” our students. We learn about written assessment or practical assessment, formative or summative assessment. Also we have rubrics in this unit.
For our future as teachers all this is really important, we will know what to do in our classes, such as didactic activities or homeworks. We will be able to create a usefull class to our students using the TPACK model or if you like, SMAR model.
